Distill.io pricing at a glance

These figures come from Distill's own pricing page, checked October 29, 2026. Prices are USD per month on monthly billing. The annual toggle on that page shows a 20 percent discount.

PlanPrice per monthMonitorsFastest cloud check
Free$025 (5 in cloud)6 hours
Starter$155010 minutes
Professional$351505 minutes
Flexi$80 and up500 and up2 minutes

Monthly cloud checks are capped at 1,000 on Free, 30,000 on Starter, 100,000 on Professional and 200,000 and up on Flexi.

A monitor is one web page or other URL that Distill watches for changes. Monitors run either in your browser extension or desktop app, which is unlimited, or on Distill's servers, which is counted. The cloud is what you need for checks that happen while your laptop is closed.

What each Distill.io plan includes

Beyond monitors and check speed, the tiers also separate alerts, macros and history. The values below are the monthly allowances shown on the pricing page.

Change history per monitor102020
Devices334 and up

The Free plan allows 30 email alerts and 100 push notifications a month, no SMS, no macros, no history and 2 devices. Macros come with every paid tier.

Two limits catch competitor trackers. Cloud checks are counted in units of 10 seconds, so a slow page that takes 25 seconds to load counts as three checks. And unused allowance does not carry over to the next month.

How Distill.io Flexi pricing works

Flexi is a base fee plus metered usage. The $80 base includes the Flexi allowances in the table above, and anything beyond the reservation is billed at the end of the period. The extra usage rates on the pricing page are:

  • 20 more cloud monitors per $1
  • 4,000 more cloud checks per $1
  • 10 more SMS notifications per $1
  • 10 more local macro actions per $1
  • $15 per extra device

Flexi suits a team that runs hundreds of monitors on short intervals and wants one invoice that grows with usage. It is harder to budget than a fixed tier, because the final bill depends on how many checks the pages actually consume.

Is Distill.io free

Yes. The Free plan costs $0, includes 25 monitors with 5 of them in the cloud, checks every 6 hours at best and allows 1,000 cloud checks a month. It is fine for testing or for watching a handful of pages from your browser. For a competitor pricing page that can change at any hour, a 6 hour interval and five cloud monitors are the first limits you will hit.

How much Distill.io costs for competitor tracking

Multiply rivals by pages per rival, then pick the tier with room for the total. These examples assume six pages per rival, such as pricing, plans, features, integrations, changelog and homepage, and that the cloud monitor count is not the binding limit.

RivalsPages (6 each)Distill.io monthlyCompetitors monthly
530$15 (Starter)$99 (Starter, 10 pages per rival)
1590$35 (Professional)$249 (Growth, 25 pages per rival)
40240$80 and up (Flexi)$599 (Scale, 60 pages per rival)

Distill.io is clearly the cheaper line item. What you pay for in the second column is different work. Distill reports that a page changed and shows what text moved. Competitors reads a rival pricing page as numbers, with the plan name, currency and billing period attached, so the alert says a Team plan went from $29 to $35 per seat, up 20.7 percent. It also filters dates, counters and cookie banners, groups every signal by rival, and from Growth adds new and stopped ads and new reviews to one Monday digest.

When Distill.io is the right buy

Stay with Distill.io, or start there, when the job is watching pages rather than competitors. It fits well if most of these are true:

  • You monitor a few dozen pages across stores, listings or documentation, not a structured list of rivals.
  • You want a browser extension that checks local pages for free with no cloud limit.
  • You are comfortable choosing the part of a page to watch with a selector and fixing a monitor when a site redesign breaks it.
  • One person reads the alerts, so no shared digest or per-rival grouping is needed.

If a marketer or product marketer is the reader and the output feeds a pricing decision or a campaign brief, the time spent reading raw diffs is the hidden cost. That is the point where a purpose-built tool pays for the difference.

Monthly vs yearly Distill.io billing

The pricing page offers a 20 percent discount for annual billing. That means a year of Starter costs about 20 percent less than twelve payments of $15, and the same logic applies to Professional and the Flexi base fee. Annual billing makes sense after you have confirmed that your target pages render in the cloud and the alerts are useful. Check the exact annual invoice at checkout, since the page shows the discount as a percentage rather than a fixed price.

For comparison, Competitors yearly billing is half the monthly rate with the year paid upfront, which is $594 for Starter, $1,494 for Growth and $3,594 for Scale. Both products allow cancellation, with access continuing to the end of the paid period.

Distill.io pricing against other competitor monitoring options

Where Distill sits depends on whether you compare it to page monitors or to competitive intelligence platforms.

Distill and Wachete are priced per page, and a competitor tracker is priced per rival. The right choice follows the unit you actually think in. If you say "watch these 40 URLs" a page monitor wins on cost. If you say "tell me what these 15 companies changed this week" you want the second kind.

For teams whose rivals spend heavily on paid ads, an ad spy tool that pulls competitor ads answers a question a page monitor cannot, which is what the rival is running right now.

Distill.io pricing questions

How much does Distill.io cost?

Distill.io costs $0 on the Free plan, $15 a month for Starter, $35 for Professional and $80 or more for Flexi on monthly billing. Annual billing takes 20 percent off. Starter includes 50 monitors with cloud checks every 10 minutes, and Professional raises that to 150 monitors every 5 minutes.

Is Distill.io free?

Yes, Distill.io has a Free plan at $0 with 25 monitors, 5 of them in the cloud, checks every 6 hours at best and 1,000 cloud checks a month. It suits testing and light personal use. Browser extension checks run locally and are not limited, but they only work while your browser is open.

What is the Distill.io Flexi plan?

Flexi is Distill's usage based plan, starting at $80 a month. The base fee includes a block of monitors, checks and devices, and anything beyond it is billed at the end of the period, for example 20 extra cloud monitors per $1 or 4,000 extra cloud checks per $1. It is meant for 500 or more monitors on fast intervals.

How many monitors do I get on each Distill.io plan?

The Free plan allows 25 monitors, Starter 50, Professional 150 and Flexi 500 and up. A monitor is one page or URL. Cloud checks that run on Distill's servers are limited to 1,000, 30,000, 100,000 and 200,000 or more per month respectively, with slow pages counting more than once.

Can I cancel Distill.io anytime?

Yes. Per Distill's pricing page you can cancel a paid plan by closing your account or switching to the Free plan on the billing page at any time. Unused monitors, checks and notifications expire at the end of the billing period and do not carry forward.

What is the best Distill.io alternative for tracking competitors?

Competitors is built for the competitor watch list case. It extracts prices as numbers with the plan and billing period, filters page noise, and adds ads, reviews and rankings from Growth. Subscriptions run from $99 to $599 a month with published pricing. Distill stays cheaper if you only need raw page change alerts.
