Refund Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

1. The short answer

Every payment for a Competitors plan is final. A charge is returned only in one of the three situations in section 4. Before you pay, the demo on the website lets you check public pages and see how change detection reads, and once you are subscribed you can stop future renewals from your account at any time.

2. What you pay for

Starter, Growth, Scale and Enterprise are monthly or yearly subscriptions. Each one opens the monitoring service for a billing period, with the number of tracked competitors, pages, seats and check frequency listed on the pricing page. The fee covers the period, not each snapshot, alert or digest. The full allowance is available from the first day of the period, whether competitors change their sites every hour or not at all during it.

By subscribing you ask us to begin the service straight away. Where a statutory right of withdrawal or a cooling-off period would otherwise apply, you accept that it ends once the service has started at your request.

3. Situations that are not refunded

None of the following leads to a full or partial refund:

  • Your competitive landscape changed, a project was dropped, or the team no longer needs monitoring.
  • Few competitors or pages were tracked during a paid period, or nothing changed on the pages you watched.
  • A page could not be checked because the site blocks automated visits, sits behind a login or paywall, or changed its structure.
  • Disagreement with how a change was classified, or with the wording of a digest or summary.
  • A renewal that was charged, including one collected after earlier attempts were declined.
  • Thinking the plan was a one-off payment. The pricing page, checkout, confirmation email and account all state that it renews.
  • Not cancelling before the renewal date, or cancelling right after a renewal.
  • A feature that is not on the pricing page, or that works differently from what you assumed.
  • Picking the wrong plan, number of seats or billing period.
  • The rest of a period after cancelling. The plan stays active until the period ends and is not pro-rated.
  • Activity by teammates or anyone else who had access to the account.

4. The three exceptions

We return money only in the cases below, only where our records support the claim, and only up to the charge concerned:

  • Double billing. A fault in our billing charged you twice for the same period.
  • An unauthorised charge that is proven. Your card was used without your consent, you report it within 14 days of the charge, and the account and payment records confirm it. A claim alone does not decide it, and we may ask you to confirm that you reported the misuse to your card issuer.
  • The service did not work at all. A confirmed fault on our side stopped all monitoring for a continuous period, you told us while it was happening, and we could not fix it. Delayed checks, a single source being unavailable, and problems with the sites you watch or with your own devices are not covered.

An approved refund is our entire liability for the matter, never exceeds what you paid for the affected period, and goes back only to the card that was charged. One refund does not create a right to another.

5. How to ask

Email [email protected] from the address on your Competitors account within 14 days of the charge, giving the date and amount and which exception in section 4 applies. Requests sent later, or from an address that is not on the account, are not considered. We review them in the order received and do not reopen declined requests.

Please contact us before your bank. A chargeback opened without contacting us first breaches our Terms of Service and the account is closed permanently.

6. Renewals, failed payments and cancelling

Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel from your account. Cancelling stops all later renewals at once, keeps the plan active until the end of the period already paid, and is not a refund request.

Each new period begins, and its payment falls due, on the renewal date. If your card is declined the amount is still owed, and our payment operator retries it over the following days. These retries collect one unpaid invoice and are not extra charges. Cancelling after a period has begun stops the periods after it, but the current period is still payable and is not refunded, even when the payment lands a few days late. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the renewal date shown in your account.

7. What we keep on record

When you create an account you accept our Terms of Service, which include this policy and our Privacy Policy. Checkout shows the plan, price, billing period and automatic renewal before you pay, and the confirmation email and your account repeat them.

For each subscription we keep the time of purchase, the plan and price shown at checkout, your acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent, and a log of activity on the account, such as sign-ins, competitors and pages added, alert rules set and digests opened, with the technical details recorded for each event. Our payment operator keeps its own transaction record, including the card's issuing country, where the payment came from and the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Unauthorised charge claims are assessed against these records, and the same records go to your bank if a chargeback is opened.

8. Earlier purchases

Payments made before October 14, 2026 stay under the terms that applied when they were made.
