What competitor keyword tracking covers
Competitors checks the search results for your tracked keywords and records the position of your domain and of every competitor you follow.
- Position of each tracked domain for each keyword, in the country and language you choose
- The exact page that ranks, so you know whether a rival ranks with its homepage, a feature page or a blog post
- Moves up and down, with the old and new position
- New entries, when a competitor appears in the results for a keyword for the first time
- Drop outs, when a competitor leaves the top results
- A position table for all keywords, you against every rival, week by week
Keyword limits: 50 tracked keywords on Growth and 250 on Scale. Every competitor is compared on every tracked keyword, so the limit counts keywords, not keyword and competitor pairs.
How keyword position comparison works
You add keywords one by one or paste a list, and set a country for each list. Competitors checks results on the schedule of your plan and records where each tracked domain sits.
What makes this different from a standalone rank tracker is context. When rival-two moves from 7 to 4 for a keyword, Competitors shows what else changed on that competitor in the same period: a rewritten page title, a new comparison page, a new section on the ranking URL. Those changes come from website change monitoring, and they sit on the same timeline as the ranking move.
That turns a ranking report into a list of explanations you can check. A page that jumped three positions after a rewrite is a page worth reading.
Small daily swings of one position are grouped and reported as stable, so the digest only mentions moves that hold.

SEO competitor tracker questions
How often are rankings checked?
Positions are checked daily on Growth and Scale. Enterprise can set a custom frequency.
Can I track keywords in different countries?
Yes. Each keyword list has its own country and language, so you can track the same keyword in two markets as two entries.
Does it show keyword research data or traffic estimates?
No. Competitors shows positions and the pages that rank. For keyword research and traffic estimates, use a dedicated SEO suite next to it.
Do my own positions count against the keyword limit?
No. Your domain and every competitor are compared on each tracked keyword, and only the keyword itself counts.
Can I export ranking data?
Yes, on Scale, through CSV export and the API.
