Website change monitoring that ignores the noise
Most website change monitoring fails the same way: it alerts on every changed character, so a date in the footer looks the same as a new price. Competitors renders each page, strips out the noise, and tells you what changed in words a person would use.

Why simple page diffs drown you in alerts
Modern pages change constantly without anything meaningful happening. A basic text comparison sees all of it and sends it all to you. After a week of false alarms, people stop reading, and the one real change gets missed.
- Dates and times: "Updated 3 hours ago", copyright years, event dates
- Counters: article counts, "1,204 reviews", live user numbers
- Rotating banners and carousels that show a different slide on each visit
- Cookie notices, consent bars and chat widgets
- Tracking parameters and session tokens in links
- Personalised blocks such as "recommended for you"
How the noise filter works
Every check follows the same steps, so two versions of a page are compared on what matters.
- Render: pages that build content in the browser are rendered first, so script-loaded text and prices are captured.
- Extract: title, meta description, headings, body text, prices, plan names, calls to action and link and image counts are read from the page.
- Filter: dates, counters, rotating banners, cookie notices and tracking parameters are removed before comparison.
- Compare: the new version is compared with the last one at word level, not character level.
- Classify: what remains is labelled: price up, price down, new plan, removed feature, new page, headline change, text change.
You can watch the comparison step work in the demo: pick a ready-made pair or paste two versions of a page.
A real change, before and after

| H1 "Payroll in minutes" to "Payroll and HR in one place" | Changed | Headline change |
| Plan "Core $6 per employee" to "Core $8 per employee" | Changed | Price up, +33.3% |

The page is payroll-desk.example's homepage and pricing section. Six raw changes; three that someone should read.
What to monitor on competitor websites
Website change monitoring in Competitors is built around competitors, so page discovery starts from a domain. Type it and Competitors finds the pricing page, product pages, blog, changelog and careers page. Each page you track gets a baseline snapshot on day one and a check on every cycle after that: daily on Starter, every 6 hours on Growth, hourly on Scale.
To understand what the changes say about a rival's strategy, rather than just that they happened, read competitor website analysis tool. For pricing pages specifically, competitor price monitoring covers price extraction in detail.
Alerts and the weekly digest
- Instant email alerts for the change types you choose, on every plan.
- Slack alerts and custom alert rules per competitor and change type on Growth and above.
- Webhooks on Scale, so a change can open a ticket or post to your own system.
- One Monday digest with every change of the week, grouped by competitor, with before and after links.
All versions are kept: 12 months on Starter, 24 months on Growth, without limit on Scale. You can open any two versions of a page and compare them.
Website change monitoring plans
There is no free plan. Full limits are on competitor monitoring software pricing.
Website change monitoring FAQ
Can I monitor pages that are not competitors?
Pages are organised per competitor, identified by domain. Any public page of that domain can be tracked, such as a partner directory, a status page or a documentation section.
Can I monitor only one part of a page?
Competitors extracts headings, prices, calls to action and body text separately, and alert rules on Growth and above let you alert only on the change types you care about, such as prices or headlines.
Does it take screenshots?
Competitors stores each version of the page's content and shows the before and after side by side, with changes highlighted. Every version stays in history.
What if a page is removed or starts redirecting?
A page that disappears or redirects is reported as a change, and its last version stays in history.
Does it work behind a login?
No. Competitors monitors public pages only, the same pages any visitor sees.
Monitor website changes without the noise
Add a competitor's domain and read only the changes that matter, starting next Monday.
