Competitor monitoring FAQ
Answers to the questions teams ask before they start monitoring competitors with Competitors. If yours is not here, email [email protected].
Getting started
What is Competitors?
Competitors is a competitor monitoring tool for B2B and ecommerce teams. It watches your competitors' prices, websites, ads, reviews and search rankings and sends one digest every Monday, with instant alerts for the changes you choose.
Who is Competitors for?
Marketing teams, product marketing, pricing managers, founders and agencies. Anyone who needs to know what competitors changed without checking their sites by hand every week.
How do I add a competitor?
Type the competitor's domain. Competitors suggests its pricing page, product pages, homepage, blog, changelog and careers page. You keep the ones you want and can add any other public URL.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Adding a competitor takes a domain and a few clicks, and the first alerts arrive after the next scheduled check.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Competitors checks public pages, public ad libraries and public review sites. Nothing is installed on your site or on your competitors' sites.
Monitoring
Which sites can Competitors monitor?
Any public web page: pricing pages, product and feature pages, homepages, blogs, changelogs, careers pages and landing pages. Ads come from public ad libraries and reviews from G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and Google.
How often are competitors checked?
Daily on Starter, every 6 hours on Growth and every hour on Scale. Enterprise sets a custom frequency per source.
Does it work on JavaScript-heavy pages?
Yes. Pages that build their content in the browser are rendered before the snapshot is taken, so prices loaded by scripts are captured as a visitor sees them.
Can Competitors read pages behind a login?
No. Competitors watches public pages only. It does not log in to competitors' products, accounts or private areas.
What counts as a competitor?
One company or brand, identified by its domain. All the pages, ads, reviews and keywords you track for it count as that one competitor.
How does noise filtering work?
Competitors ignores dates, counters, rotating banners, cookie notices and tracking parameters, then classifies what is left: price up, price down, new plan, removed feature, new page, headline change, new ad, rating change or ranking change.
Which ad platforms are covered?
Ad tracking reads the public Google and Meta ad libraries for each competitor on Growth and above. You see the ad copy, the landing page and when the ad started or stopped.
Which review sites are covered?
G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and Google. Enterprise can add custom sources such as app stores and marketplaces.
Alerts and digest
What is in the Monday digest?
One email, grouped by competitor, with every change of the week, before and after figures and a short note on why it matters.
Can I get alerts in Slack?
Yes, on Growth and above. You choose which change types go to Slack, which go by email and which wait for the Monday digest.
Can I set a threshold for price alerts?
Yes. For example, you can be alerted only when a price moves by more than 5 percent, and let smaller changes wait for the digest.
Can I share the digest with people who do not have a seat?
Yes, on Growth and above. Shareable digest links let executives or sales read the digest without their own seat.
Plans and billing
How much does Competitors cost?
Starter is $99 per month, Growth $249 and Scale $599. Yearly billing costs $594, $1,494 and $3,594. Enterprise is priced on a contract.
Can I try Competitors before I pay?
There is no free plan. The demo on this site is the free part: snapshot any competitor page and compare two versions before you create your account.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Move up or down at any time from your account. The new limits apply straight away and billing is adjusted for the rest of the period.
Can I swap one competitor for another?
Yes, at any time. The history of the competitor you removed stays in your account for the length of your plan's history.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period and does not renew after that.
Do you offer invoicing?
Yes, on Enterprise with an annual contract. Starter, Growth and Scale are paid by card.
Data and security
What happens to my data?
Your list of competitors, keywords and alerts belongs to you and is never shared or sold. Other customers cannot see who you track.
Do competitors know I am tracking them?
No. Checks look like an ordinary visit to a public page. Your company name is not sent to the sites you watch.
Do you support SSO?
Yes, SSO (SAML), roles and permissions and an audit log are part of Enterprise. A DPA and a security review are available on Enterprise too.
How do I contact you?
Email [email protected]. For Enterprise, write to the same address and mention your team size and the number of competitors you need.
