How much does Klue cost?

Klue sells on quote-based annual contracts. Vendr, which negotiates software purchases for its customers, reports these figures for Klue:

MeasureKlue, per year
Median contract$30,000
Low end of reported deals$16,000
High end of reported deals$60,000
Purchases in the sample106
Average saving Vendr buyers negotiated18%

Treat these as market data, not a price list. Large rollouts with many seats, the win and loss module and long terms can go well past the top of that range. A startup with a single curator and a short list of competitors may land near the bottom.

Klue's own site asks you to book a demo for pricing, so every number you see in public comes from buyers, not from Klue.

What drives the price of a Klue quote

Four things move a Klue quote more than anything else.

Seats, split by role. Klue distinguishes the people who build content (curators, usually product marketing) from the people who read it (sellers and other consumers). Curator seats cost more. A team with two curators and 40 sellers pays for both groups.

Modules. Competitive intelligence and battlecards are the core. Win and loss analysis is sold as a larger add-on and is often the difference between a mid-range and a six-figure deal.

Integrations and distribution. Pushing battlecards into Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack and Gong is one of Klue's main selling points. Broader rollouts across more tools usually mean a bigger contract.

Term length. Multi-year commitments lower the yearly rate. They also lock you in, so weigh the discount against how sure you are the program will still exist in year three.

The cost you do not see on the invoice is time. Klue works best with a named owner who writes and maintains battlecards every week. If nobody on your team has that as part of their job, the platform tends to go stale and the contract becomes hard to defend at renewal.

Klue vs Crayon pricing

Klue and Crayon are the two platforms most buyers shortlist together, and their pricing is close.

On price alone, neither is clearly cheaper. The choice usually comes down to which workflow your sellers will use. If you are comparing Crayon too, our page on Crayon alternatives sets the same numbers against lighter tools.

When Klue is worth $30,000 a year

Klue earns its price when the value of winning one more competitive deal is large and the sales team is big enough to use the cards daily. A rough test:

  • Your average deal is in the tens of thousands of dollars, so one extra win a quarter covers the contract.
  • You have 30 or more quota-carrying sellers who meet the same three to five rivals over and over.
  • Someone in product marketing owns competitive enablement and has time to keep cards current.
  • You plan to run win and loss interviews and want them next to the battlecards.

If you tick all four, get quotes from Klue and Crayon and negotiate them against each other. If you tick one or two, you are likely paying for a program you will not run.

Cheaper Klue alternatives for small teams

Most small and mid-size teams do not need an enterprise battlecard system. They need three things: to hear about a competitor's price change before a prospect mentions it, to see when a rival rewrites its positioning, and to give sales a short, current summary of each competitor. That is a monitoring job, and it costs a fraction of a CI platform.

Competitors Growth15 competitors: adds ads, reviews, 50 tracked keywords, Slack alerts$1,494 billed yearly
Competitors Scale40 competitors: adds self-updating competitor cards, CSV export, API$3,594 billed yearly

Competitors reads prices on competitor pricing pages as prices, with the plan and billing period, so an alert says "Pro went from $49 to $59 a month, up 20.4%" rather than "text changed". Page changes are filtered for noise, and every snapshot is kept so the facts on a battlecard always have a date behind them. See how the plans compare on competitive intelligence software and the full pricing page.

What Competitors does not do: win and loss interviews, or pushing cards into Gong and Salesforce for hundreds of reps. If you need either, Klue or Crayon is the honest recommendation. And if you also want to hear what people say about a rival on social media and forums, that falls under social listening and brand monitoring, a separate category from competitor change tracking.

How to negotiate a Klue quote if you go ahead

If Klue is the right fit, a few steps usually lower the number.

Get a Crayon quote in parallel. The two vendors compete for the same buyers, and a live alternative is the strongest lever you have.

Count seats honestly. Pay for curator seats only for people who will write content every week. Readers are cheaper, and some teams give view access only to sellers who carry competitive deals.

Leave win and loss for year two. Start with battlecards, prove adoption, then add the module when you have the interview process to feed it.

Ask for a shorter first term. A one-year first contract costs more per year than a three-year deal, but it keeps the option to switch if adoption is low.

Keep the facts current without the platform. Whatever you buy, battlecards only work when the pricing and recent changes on them are right. The competitor battlecard guide covers which sections sellers read first.

Klue pricing FAQ

How much does Klue cost per year?

Klue costs a median of $30,000 per year according to Vendr's data from 106 purchases, with reported deals from about $16,000 to $60,000. Klue does not publish list prices, so your quote depends on seats, modules such as win and loss, integrations and contract length.

Does Klue publish its pricing?

No. Klue prices every deal through a sales quote after a demo. Third-party purchase data, such as Vendr's, is the most reliable public reference for what buyers actually pay.

Is Klue cheaper than Crayon?

Not in a meaningful way. Vendr reports the same $30,000 median for both, with Klue's reported range slightly higher at the top. The better question is which workflow your sales team will actually use.

What is the cheapest alternative to Klue?

For teams that mainly need competitor change tracking, a monitoring tool is the cheapest serious alternative. Competitors starts at $99 per month, or $594 per year billed yearly, and covers prices, website changes and alerts for five competitors.

Does Klue offer monthly billing?

Klue is sold on annual and multi-year contracts in the purchase data we have seen, so ask sales directly if you need shorter terms. Competitors bills monthly or yearly, with yearly at half the monthly rate.
