Competitor monitoring security and data handling
Watching competitors should never create a risk for your own company. This page explains what Competitors fetches, what it stores and how access to your account is controlled.

What Competitors fetches
- Public web pages you add to a competitor: pricing, product, homepage, blog, changelog, careers and any other public URL.
- Public ad libraries for ad tracking and public review profiles for review monitoring.
- Public search results for the keywords you track.
Competitors never logs in to a competitor's product, never fills in forms on their site and never reads anything behind a login or paywall.
How pages are fetched
- Only http and https addresses on public networks. Private, loopback and internal addresses are refused.
- A limited number of redirects and a size and time limit on every fetch.
- Checks are spread over time and follow the schedule of your plan, so a watched site sees ordinary visit traffic.
- Your company name, account or email is never sent to the sites you watch.
Your data stays yours
- Your list of competitors, pages, keywords, alert rules and digests belongs to you.
- It is never shared with other customers, sold or used to build lists for anyone else.
- Other customers cannot see which competitors you track.
- When you close your account, your data is deleted after the end of your paid period, unless the law requires us to keep billing records.
Read the full Privacy Policy.
Access control
- Every seat is a named user with their own login.
- Email confirmation with a one-time code when an account is created.
- On Scale, client workspaces keep each client's competitors, digests and history apart.
- On Enterprise: SSO (SAML), roles and permissions, and an audit log of who changed what.
