Ecommerce competitor price monitoring for key products and promotions
When a rival store cuts the price of your best seller or launches a sitewide sale, you want to know that day, not when conversion drops. Competitors watches the product, category and promotion pages that matter and tells you what moved, by how much and since when.

What ecommerce price tracking covers
An ecommerce pricing manager usually tracks a handful of direct rivals and, for each one, the pages where price decisions show.
- Product pages for your key products: price, sale price, currency and stock status text
- Category and collection pages: prices across a range, new and removed products
- Promotion pages and homepage banners: sitewide sales, discount codes shown on the page, bundles and shipping offers
- Shipping and returns pages: thresholds, delivery promises and return windows
- Homepage messaging and main campaigns
- Ads in the public Google and Meta ad libraries, on Growth and above, see competitor ad tracking
Rotating hero banners are a classic source of noise on store homepages. Competitors recognizes content that rotates on every load and ignores it, so only a new campaign reaches your digest, not the same three slides in a different order.

| Competitor | Page | Change | Before | After |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| store-one.example | Trail running shoe, size range | Price decreased | $129.00 | $109.00, -15.5% |
| store-one.example | Homepage | New promotion | none | "20% off all outerwear this weekend" |
| store-two.example | Shipping page | Free delivery threshold changed | Orders over $75 | Orders over $50 |
| store-two.example | Rain jacket | Back in stock | "Sold out" | "In stock" |
| store-three.example | Running category | New products | 48 products | 53 products |
Each row opens the before and after snapshots side by side, so you can check the exact wording of an offer before you respond to it.
How it works for a store
Add a competitor store by its domain. Competitors lists its main pages and you add the product and category pages you want to follow, by pasting URLs. Prices are read from the page as a shopper sees it, including prices loaded by scripts, with the currency.
Checks run daily on Starter, every 6 hours on Growth and hourly on Scale. Price changes can trigger an instant alert with a threshold, such as cuts of more than 5 percent on the products you mark as key. The rest lands in the Monday digest with a short note on why it matters: a rival lowering its shipping threshold the same week it discounts outerwear is a push for basket size.
Longer history shows patterns. With 24 months on Growth and unlimited history on Scale, you can see how deep a rival discounted last season and when the sale started. For pricing team workflows, see competitive price intelligence.
Who this setup fits, and who it does not
Competitors fits stores that compete with a few named rivals on a focused range: key products, hero categories, promotions and messaging. It watches the full picture of each rival, not only the price.
If you need product-level matching across thousands of SKUs and automatic repricing, a dedicated ecommerce price tracker is the better fit, and our guide to the best competitor analysis tools explains the difference. Page limits per competitor are 10 on Starter, 25 on Growth and 60 on Scale, with custom sources such as marketplaces and regional sites on Enterprise.

Ecommerce competitor price monitoring questions
Does it work with prices that change by region or currency?
Each page is checked from one location with one currency. To follow a regional store, add its regional URL. Custom regional sources are available on Enterprise.
Can it detect promotions that are not on product pages?
Yes. Homepage banners, promotion pages and announcement bars are tracked as website changes and classified as promotions when they contain discounts or offers.
Can I send price changes to my own systems?
Yes, on Scale, through webhooks, the API and CSV export.
Does it change my prices automatically?
No. Competitors reports competitor prices and promotions. Your pricing decisions stay with you.
How many products can I track?
Up to the page limit per competitor of your plan: 10, 25 or 60 pages. Category pages let you follow many products through one page.
