Competitor tracking tools, compared by what they actually track
Most competitor tracking tools answer one narrow question well. Before you pick one, it helps to know what each type watches, how it charges and what lands in your inbox on a Monday morning.

How to compare competitor tracking software
Five questions separate a tool your team keeps using from one that gets muted in the second week.
- What does it understand? A tool that sees a page as text reports "37 words changed". A tool that understands prices reports "Pro plan went from $49 to $59, +20.4%".
- How much noise does it send? Dates, counters, rotating banners and cookie notices change every day. If the tool does not filter them, every alert becomes noise.
- How many signals per competitor? Prices, website, ads, reviews and rankings describe one rival. Five tools for five signals means five places to look.
- Who reads the output? A feed of raw diffs works for one analyst. A digest with "why it matters" works for a whole team.
- How is it priced? Per page, per check, per seat or per competitor. The model decides whether cost follows the market you watch or something unrelated.

Why Competitors is priced per competitor
A competitor is one company, identified by its domain. Everything you track for it counts as that one competitor: its pricing page, product pages, blog, changelog, ads, reviews and your keyword comparison against it.
Pricing per competitor means cost follows the size of the market you watch. Adding a colleague on your plan's seats does not raise the bill. Adding a page to a competitor you already track does not raise it either, up to the page limit of your plan.

Competitor tracking tools questions
Can I use Competitors next to an SEO suite?
Yes, the two work well together. An SEO suite is built for keyword research and traffic estimates. Competitors is built for what each rival changes. They answer different questions.
What counts against my competitor limit?
Each tracked domain. Your own domain, added for comparison, counts as one competitor too.
Can I swap one competitor for another?
Yes, at any time. Removing a competitor frees the slot straight away. Its history stays available for the history period of your plan.
Is there a per-seat charge?
No. Seats are included per plan: 1 on Starter, 5 on Growth, 15 on Scale.
Can I try it before paying?
There is no free plan. The demo takes a snapshot of any competitor page and compares two versions, so you see the output before you pay.
